Tungsten Jigs are nowadays - besides Tungsten Nymphs - another type of very popular river nymphs! Thanks to the special shape of a jig hook combined with a tungsten bead in head, the fly moves with the head down, minimizing the grips on river bed, as the hook is pointing upward - out of the obstacle on the river bottom. The development of this type of artificial fly is again very much related to the fly fishing competitions, in which today mainly modern European nymph techniques come from France, Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic.
